Thought for the Day: Family

Alright, no pictures this time, but Benjamin and I were sitting on the ground this morning playing and I was singing to Ben.(I know scary) Were were listening to old hyms sung by modern day Avalon. We were listening to "How Great Thou Art," and I was telling Ben that hym was daddy's favorite. While I was sitting there I was doing a little reflecting,(I know even more scary) and I could picture some of my childhood. I remembered car rides in my grandpa's red Ford truck to school or drives up to my great grandparents house and I would often here my Grandpa singing or whistling these old hyms. Times like these remind us(at least me) of who we are, where we come from, and what we're going to do with what we have been given.) In the business I work, I so often see troubled people, broken families, unhappy people, lost, confused, without direction. I am so thankful for the life my family has paved for myself, the things they have gone through to provide the life I have, and the joy of knowing you come from a home built around love. It is such a blessing to have this and it is a promise I have made to my family. So many memories, and good times, my hope is that in the times that we live in Ben will have the same experiences and memories of his family as I do!

P.S. Leave a comment! Don't be shy!!! One day Ben will be able to read them!

P.S.S. HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!

Ben loves to play. He plays all day non stop. Even sleep and Eating come second to playing. He has found cars and loves them. He plays with them everywhere. Grandma and Grandpa have made it a point to bring Ben a new one everytime they see him. Grandpa now loves to give Ben cars that make lots of noise like the one you see in the picture to get back at Daddy!!!

San Francisco Zoo

On Friday the Southwicks and the Gundermans went on a day trip to the San Francisco Zoo. Ben had a lot of fun. He got to go on the Little Puffer Steam Engine, he saw a Grizzly Bear, a gigantic Anaconda, and Tigers that roared at each other. He loved the petting zoo, especially riding on the little wagons. And of course, he got to hang out with his buddy Luke!

Sorry it has been a little while since my last post. Daddy is a restauraunt manager!! I know grandparents, no excuses right. I will try to keep up a little better. The family is doing well. Ben is almost 18 months old, and doing great. He loves to play and be outside. He also loves to ride the Bye Bye Buggy at Church!! He can say a few words like, "shoes, No, outside, thank you, hi, bye, nose, gidget, and of course Dada and Andrea! We are still working on, "How about them Cowboys!" Andrea is watching kids from home which is as close to being home with Ben as possible. She is going to watch our old neighbors from the hood in Pleasanton, and is pretty excited about that. Other than that everything is going good.
